Block windows update site

If you want to do it for multiple systems.

1) You can create a new group policy and apply the same in your domain OR OU.

2) If you do not have domain environment and working in a workgroup environment, then simply apply this required policies in one standalone system then copy the Group policy folder to all systems on the same path.

Path : C:\WINDOWS\system32\GroupPolicy

Note: Group policy is a hidden folder.

　

　

4) Click on Enable and press OK.

3) Click on the Remove Links and access to windows updates.

How to Block users from doing windows updates manually from windows updates site??

You can block the users from downloading the updates from windows updates website and force to download the updates from WSUS or local updates server. This is a general security policy followd by many organizations for the security reason, so that you can block the users from downloading the non tested patches or unwanted patches.

To do it locally you can follow the below instructions.

1) Go to gpedit.msc

2) Go to user configuration à Administrative templates à Start menu & Taskbar
